Birds Nest Snack Idea and Fine Motor Practice for Kids

During out Pet Unit we talked about birds. I wanted to come up with a simple snack idea that would use fine motor practice. So, this is what I came up with. Materials Needed:
Round Pretzels
Jelly Beans (or you could use nuts if you don't have any peanut allergies)
I had each student place their eggs (jelly beans since it is almost Easter) into their nests. This concept is so simple, but I can't tell you enough how much FUN the students had doing this. They kept asking to make more nest, more nests! This Bird Nest Snack was such a fun way to practice the students' fine motor skills.

To make this snack a little healthier I gave the students apple slices to go along with their "Birds Nests".

How simple and creative! We are going to do another bird week in a couple weeks so I'm going to keep this in mind.
