"Let's Learn about Penguins Unit" for preschool through early elementary aged children

I know I always get excited when I share one of my new learning units with you, but my NEW "Let's Learn about Penguins Unit" has quickly become one of my favorites. If you have been reading my blog over the past month you have noticed I have been doing a "Penguin Theme Unit" with my children. We have been doing penguin art, writing, reading, science, math activities and more plus I have shared a lot of great Penguin Themed Children's books as well. If you missed these posts simple click on my penguins link.
This wonderful unit is 20 PDF (digital) pages long and includes everything you see above. It is excellent for little ones as young as preschool age as well as students up to fourth grade age. I know that when I taught fourth grade, my students would have had so much fun doing penguin reports and learning how to draw a penguins.
The three main penguins I focus on in this unit are "Macaroni Penguins, Emperor Penguins, and Adelie Penguins". Each penguin comes with a fact sheet all about the penguins for you as the teacher or parent to use, along with an accompanying fact sheet paper for your children or studetns. Children can color the penguin, read about the penguin, and then write down their favorite thing they learned about that particular penguin. I also have many other activities that focus on penguins in general.

This unit contains all original activities and illustration drawn and created by me (that makes me smile). Here are examples of my "Penguin Report" and my "How to Draw a Penguin" activity. Boy did my girls love doing these two activities. For the penguin report we did research on line by looking at websites like: Wikipedia and National Geographic for Kids as well as looking through the "Penguin Fact Sheets and Fact Cards" included in this unit, and reading some great books about penguins that I have mentioned in previous posts.

I need to take a picture of my daughter's penguins they drew because they turned out so cute. Of course they always add their own creative flair to their drawings.

This looks AWESOME! I love the different activities. Fun ways to learn A LOT. I think the "how to draw a penguin" page was really neat. You should do more of those. :)
