The Lily Series - Here's Lily by Nancy Rue Book Review

Here's Lily, by Nancy Rue, is the first book in her "The Lily Series". We have all had times in our lives where we haven't felt like we were smart enough, talented enough, or maybe even pretty enough.
Lily Robbins, the star of this wonderful pre-teen novel, is a typical sixth grade girl trying to discover her self-worth. She has a few dear friends, a family who is not the most supportive and who tend to bring her down, and a few bullies in her class who want nothing but to have Lily feel as though she is no better than the dirt on the bottom of their shoes.
When a modeling agency visits Lily's school, Lily is invited to attend Modeling Classes. Lily begins to think that maybe she  is not as awkward and gangly as so many people in her life have told her.
Thanks to Lily's modeling class and Kathleen, the head modeling agent, Lily begins to exuberate self confidence or God-Confidence as Kathleen likes to call it.  Everything in her world seems to be turning out perfect, until her parents challenge her to find God in an industry where most of the focus in on outer beauty.
Through a difficult trial that is placed in front of Lily, she discovers her real inner beauty, and how special she is in God's eyes.
I really enjoyed reading this book as an adult and I know that young  girls would love it as well. It is a face paced, quick read, with a wonderful message in the end.

How fun that you are participating in book reviews. I've never read the book, but I love what you said about it, and I think I would read it just because I think the little girl on the cover is super cute.
