Pirate Treasures FREE Educational and Party Printables, Art Projects, Pirate Booklists, and All Things Wonderful Link Up 10-5

Hooray Hooray Mateys! I just finished my "Pirate Treasures Unit" and boy did my girls have fun with all of the learning activities and art materials. This unit is jam packed with fun learning materials as well as great printables for a Pirate Themed Classroom or a Pirate Themed Birthday Party. This is a list of all the great items included in this 35 page unit. If you would like to purchase this awesome unit you can CLICK HERE to go to my Learn and Grow Designs Etsy Store, or CLICK HERE to be taken to my Teacher's Notebook Store. For your FREE Printables, keep reading. I promise it will be worth it.

Our Pirate Themed Activities:
To start things off we did some of the art projects and writing activities together.

My girls FAVORITE activity they did from my new unit was the "design your own treasure map". Oh my goodness they LOVED it! After they finished drawing out their maps, they colored them and added a few jewels to them. Then they had my husband and I go on treasure hunts using their maps. It was so cute hearing them explain their maps to us. I even recorded them. They said things like, "..and then as you turn the corner there was the biggest giant you had ever seen." Little Blonde's Pirate Treasure Map (who is 6)

Little Red's Pirate Treasure Map (who just turned 5 a month ago).

This is "Little Blonde" modeling her pirate hat she made. We decided that we needed to decorate our hats as well to add a little "bling" to them.

Here is the Pirate Calendar Set we will be using.

This is a picture of the "Parrot Paper Bag" puppets that I illustrated and then we made together. These are the fun name plates we used as well as these great word wall words that we read and discussed together. One thing you could do with the word wall words is have your child or student take a couple cards out of a hat without looking and then they could either draw a story, dicate a story to you, or write a story using those word wall words. The possibilities are endless. FREE Blog Printables from my "Pirate Treasures Educational and Party Materials". My "Pirate Treasures Bookmarks" were so much fun to make together. My girls cut them out, and the decided what type of ribbon to tie to the top. They had so much fun making them. These bookmarks are included in my 'Pirate Treasures Educational and Party Materials" but I am sharing them with you for FREE today. Just CLICK HERE to download them. Please just leave me a comment if you download them. I love knowing when I offer my printables for free that people use them. It makes my day.

CLICK HERE to get your FREE copy of my "Pirate Number Treasures Printable". This printable is only available on my blog. It is a fun way to practice fine motor skills and number recognition.

Here are a few of our favorite "Pirate Themed" children's books! You can't go wrong reading them! Your kids will love them all and before you know it, "Arr. Matey" will be a part of their everyday vocabulary. We had a lot of fun making things from this Usborne Activities "Pirate Things to Make and Do" kit. Little Blonde especially loved making a pirate sword from this kit. CLICK HERE for more details.

On a Pirate Ship by Sarah Courtauld - We LOVE this book. So cute, with darling illustrations. A fantastic Usborne book. CLICK HERE for more information.

That's Not My Pirate - A very fun, hands on book by Usborne Book. CLICK HERE for more details. Can you tell how much we love Usborne Books?
